A Federal TRIO Program

Program Description

The Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math-Science - LT programs at the University of Kansas are federally funded college access programs that serve eligible students in Shawnee, Douglas, Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties. Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math-Science - LT provide first-generation and/or low-income college bound students with the academic support and college preparatory experiences needed to succeed in college immediately after high school. Our programs' goals are to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education. Currently, KU Upward Bound serves 96 students, in 4 high schools throughout Shawnee, Douglas and Wyandotte counties. Upward Bound Math-Science - LT serves 60 students at two high schools in Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties.

Welcome to KU Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math-Science - LT!

KU Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math-Science - LT are federally funded college access programs that provide fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. Our programs provide opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits.
